Stroke

From a Family Member

“My Mom is doing SO much better. She has been getting in-home therapy and her range of motion is nearly fully restored. Her speech is still somewhat of a struggle, but she has good outpatient speech therapy, which she’s doing daily. You guys have been such a blessing and I can’t thank you enough for shepherding me and my family through really the most horrific time of our lives. I am grateful that things are on the right track and so grateful to be working with you.”

Traumatic Brain Injury

From a Parent

“You have given me something that no one has been able to give me - hope. After my son suffered a closed head traumatic brain injury, the doctors said he would remain in a vegetative state. My wife and I have been searching for treatment options since his accident. When we were referred to Utilize Health, our Patient Advocate helped us learn about what options were out there. Thank you to all of the Utilize Health team. God Bless you and your work!”

Muscular Dystrophy

From a Patient

“I just wanted to share as I am a little excited. I finished 3 months of PT at (my facility) yesterday. Just a little back story. So I had initial evaluation with my therapist in September of last year. I started seeing her twice a week from mid-October till Christmas. I returned after the holidays and saw her once a week until yesterday. Since it was my last visit, we redid all the tests that I had done 6 months earlier. I am happy to say for the first time in 3 years I saw no decline in my illness. Usually every 6-8 months I notice things becoming more difficult. My goal when I started with her back in October was to finish up ahead of where I came in at. I set that goal and blew it out of the water. I significantly improved from September to present day. To say I am thrilled with my improvement would be an understatement. My PT and I have created what I feel will be a lifelong friendship. However long that may be, but with her help i am definitely hoping my life will be longer than what I believed when I first met YOU! I still am going to the gym 5 days a week to stay strong and I will start therapy all over again in the fall. I just wanted to let you know how I am since you are a huge part of my “story.” as well as to thank you once again for what you have done for me. I love you guys.”

Spinal Cord Injury

From a Patient

“It’s been 21 years since I have participated in PT and OT. I look forward to starting a new kind of physical therapy. Thank you for helping me down the right path.”

Spinal Cord Injury

From a Patient

“Before Utilize Health, the experience was difficult because the individuals that you talk to - Doctors, Social Workers, Insurance Companies, etc… talk well over your head and do not take the time to explain what is really going on with your loved one.

My brother met Jill and she introduced him to Utilize Health. Utilize Health helped me set it up to get him into Siskin. But it did not stop there. Every week I can expect to communicate with my Patient Advocate and get a wealth of information. I do not have to go out and find people to get information from. I can go to one source. It is so convenient. She (my Patient Advocate) understands my frustration and is so encouraging. She let’s me know if I am on the correct path and if I am not steers me in the direction I should go. I am so grateful.”

Spinal Cord Injury

From a Patient

“I’m really thankful for Utilize Health. It’s made a big difference in my life. I recently moved to Florida to go to (Said Facility) here in North Palm Beach. It’s a great facility and I couldn’t be in a better spot. I’ve got six months here before i have to return home to Arizona, so I’m anxious to see how much better I can get with their help.”

Muscular Dystrophy

From a Parent

“My middle child, a vivacious 18 year old girl was having issues walking, balancing, and carrying coffee across a room. Her older sister has a bad accident 4 years ago and suffers from similar issues. After having my middle child checked out by a neurologist, he told us that he thought she had a genetic disorder. This was validated a few weeks later when we learned that both girls (ages 23 and 19) have a form of Muscular Dystrophy called Friedrich’s Ataxia. Devastated does no justice to my thoughts and feelings. We’ve been through a great deal as a family and this just seemed totally impossible. I made a call (to Utilize Health), hoping that someone, anyone, would help me to manage my feelings and replace some of the hopelessness with hope. (They) did just that.

When she (Patient Advocate) said that she and her team were going to take care of my girls I broke down. And the promise has most certainly been kept. They have helped us in so many ways. They researched options, they’ve pointed us to clinical trial opportunities, they’ve made appointments and even contracted a rehabilitation center in Chattanooga where my girls live where they are getting some PT. they have my back. And as a mother who can offer no treatment (because there isn’t one) I don’t feel alone. I have a team and the girl’s have a team.

It’s the little things and the really big things that Utilize Health is helping my family through. Utilize Health is showing me how to never give up hope, not for a minute…”

Traumatic Brain Injury

From a Patient

“I am continually amazed how frequently the information does not come from the physician - how frequently the path that we choose or the things that are most valuable to (my son’s) recovery have not come from through the physician but have come through word of mouth or therapists.”

Spinal Cord Injury

From a Patient

“When I started to get discouraged with my progress, I came across Utilize Health and they helped me find a new physical therapist to push me harder and farther. They made it easy to locate resources in my neighborhood, set up appointments, and feel confident. Their work has taken a huge weight off my shoulders.”
